Are people buying property in Israel now?

ANSWER: 4.926 billion shekels in mortgages were borrowed by Israel property buyers in July 2012, reported the Bank of Israel. This is the largest amount of mortgage funds ever issued in Israeli history, and an increase of 25% over the previous month. The interest rate currently remains at a low 2.25%

VAT to increase

Value Added Tax (VAT) in Israel will be raised from 16% to 17% as of September 1, 2012.
