 The Knesset has approved a number of significant changes to the tax laws on the purchase and sale of residential land and property and capital gains. The changes are complex and complicated, and need to be addressed on an individual basis. There are significant changes for non - citizen buyers and sellers. Some changes have gone into effect as of August 1, 2013 and some will be going into effect as of January 1, 2014. If you are considering a real estate transaction, we strongly advise that you consult with an experienced Israeli real estate attorney and/or a tax accountant to determine your tax obligation.  New olim are the least affected.
